Message from the Administrator
On June 4, 2010 Seacrest Village forwarded nominations
to the Health Care Association of
New
Jersey for Resident of the Year, Volunteer of the
Year, Nurse of the Year and Certified Nursing Assistant
of the Year for 2010.
It has been a great
honor to nominate the following: Michael Dych
as our Resident of the Year, who has resided at
Seacrest Village since August of 2007. Mike is
very involved in helping make the lives of all of
our residents a little bit brighter, from selling
Philly soft pretzels and bagels every Friday for
Resident Council, to heading up the weekly
karaoke, and baking pizza as a resident activity.
Mike’s involvement is what makes Seacrest Village
a special place!
Shirley Phelps has been a
volunteer at Seacrest Village for over ten years.
She is the kind of volunteer health care facilities
always welcome with open arms. Shirley is caring,
dedicated and a terrific sense of humor.
Our
nomination for Nurse of the Year goes to Lisa
Rivera. Lisa has been a valued nurse on our advanced
dementia unit, Hearts in the Past, for 11
years. Her nursing skills, as well as her kindness
and compassion, play an important role in the
quality of life for our residents.
Last, but certainly
not least, we have nominated Valerie Nemeth as
our Certified Nursing Assistant of the Year. Val
has been employed at Seacrest Village since October
of 2004. She is always seen going above and
beyond, whether bringing in coffee for her coworkers
on her days off, or picking up something
in her spare time that a resident may need.
Each
individual really has a love for what they do, and
it has been a pleasure to nominate each one in
their respective categories. The HCANJ will post
their results in October, 2010. We would like to
wish all our nominees good luck!
Sincerely,
T. Brian Holloway, Jr.
